I'm Gabriel Nichols. I hold a Bachelor of Biblical Studies from Bear Valley Bible Institute, and my background is in ministry — preaching, teaching, and study. That work is writing and research almost all the way down. Preparing to teach means finding sources, weighing what they actually support, and turning it into something a room full of people can follow and act on. A grant proposal asks for the same thing, pointed at a foundation program officer instead of a congregation.
I work with churches, ministries, children's homes, Christian schools, camps, and community nonprofits across Oklahoma. I understand how these organizations actually run — the volunteer labor, the thin margins, the board that meets once a quarter — because I've been inside them. Funders don't give money to good intentions. They fund clear needs, specific plans, and results you can measure. My job is to take what you already do well and put it in the language foundations use to make decisions.
I'll tell you the truth about your odds. Industry-wide, roughly one in seven grant applications gets funded. Anyone who promises you a win isn't being straight with you.
What I can do is put you in the better tier. Small and regional foundations approve at far higher rates than national ones, and applications matched carefully to a funder's mission and geography win two to three times as often as generic ones. So I'd rather send four well-fitted applications to Oklahoma funders than one long shot to a national name.
I bill for the work, never a percentage of the award. Taking a cut of grant funding violates the Grant Professionals Association Code of Ethics and is disallowed by most funders. Flat fee, agreed in writing before I start, half up front.
